The James Bond 007 File
5.  Moonraker  - 1979

James Bond  - Roger Moore

Hugo Drax - Michael Lonsdale

Holly Goodhead - Lois Chiles

Director - Lewis Gilbert

In a similar vein to The Spy Who Loved Me , millionaire Hugo Drax is out to destroy the world and start his own race of "perfect" people in space.

Following the huge success of The Spy Who Loved Me this money has by far the biggest budget of any bond film to that time. James Bond goes into space ( in a response to the Star Wars phenomenon ) and you have to let yourself have fun with it and not dwell on the "reality" of the occurrence. The pre-title scenes is one of the best as Bond is pushed out of an airplane without a parachute. The non-space portions of the movie include memorable visits to Venice and Rio.
Although often criticized this film was the top grossing Bond film of all time until the release 17 years later of Goldeneye.
